SPECIAL MESSAGES
As I leave Calabasas High School (with my graduating daughter), I also leave the PFC. I have enjoyed being your Co-President and appreciate the trust and support the CHS community has given me. Volunteering for LVUSD for 13 years has been my privilege and honor. To be able to give back was always a gift for myself.

The remaining board and new board will take great care of the PFC and so I leave it in great hands. If you will indulge me while I personally take advantage of this eNewsletter platform one last time. I would like to thank my 3 friends and fellow board members who have been by my side and leave the PFC with me:

Lisa Wayne, it has been a true labor of love to work with you as my Co. Your heart is pure and the joy in all you do is evident no matter what it is. You were a great Co-President and brought insight and perspective to the position. The PFC is lucky you will still be at CHS and maybe they will talk you into another job....not. I'm grateful for you.

Susan Hooker, you will be missed as Treasurer, but the PFC can find you volunteering in counseling and at the pool snack shack. You have been a vital volunteer for Chaparral, AC Stelle and now CHS. Being Treasurer came naturally to you and you have always been trusted and appreciated.  I truly thank you for staying on as Treasurer this year, answering my endless questions and always keeping the budget and team on track. You are a treasure.

Alisa Allen, our silent hero. As Communications VP you dealt with our advertisers and every single person who submitted something for the eNewsletter. I don't think anyone knows how much that entails, but you did it (seemingly) effortlessly. Change after change after change, late submissions, last minute updates and then creating something interesting. You, too are graduating with your daughter, so now you hand the job over to two people and you can focus on running your business. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for stepping up and doing such a brilliant job. Cheers my friend.

Thank you CHS Parents, Staff and Friends....it's been a pleasure,

Laura Ainsworth
CHS PFC Co-President

This is my last newsletter as VP Communications as my daughter is graduating. Congratulations to all of the graduating seniors of 2015! I want to thank all of the PFC Board members and CHS Staff that I have had the pleasure of working with these last two years.  It has been a great experience volunteering for the CHS PFC, challenging at times but also very rewarding.  Thank you to the CHS Parents for your support and kind words of praise. Thank you to the advertisers that so generously support our newsletter.  I leave you in the very capable hands of  Jude Wolf and Mari Denlinger.

Very truly,

Alisa Allen

Want to wish all my seniors a great new beginning as they embark on another 4 year journey, that will take them away from CHS. I hope  your next chapter will be filled with great memories. Continue to make me proud. I will miss you all and I wish you good luck.

College and Career Center Year-End Wrap-Up: It's been an amazing year for the Class of 2015 and all the students at Calabasas High School.  A special Thank You to the outgoing PFC Presidents, Lisa Wayne and Laura Ainsworth.  They and their entire PFC Board have truly been the "Dream Team." They are the invisible support system behind the College and Career Center.  They have been advocates of the CHS College and Career Center and without them this exceptional year would not have been nearly as exceptional!  A shout out to Alisa Allen who has published all the College & Career announcements and updates in this weekly publication. Thank you, Alisa!  Good luck in your adventures as a UC Davis parent!

These past two years serving as President of CHS Peer Support has truly been one of the greatest honors yet. It has been an incredible learning experience every step of the way. Peer Support has allowed me to grow tremendously outside of the classroom and into a strong leader within our community. Very few programs offer students such amazing opportunities to become so involved with their school in the way Peer Support has and still does. During this past year, our program was fortunate enough to have received two awards and numerous articles written about us.

First and foremost, thank to my amazing Peer Support team! We could never have accomplished as much as we did without all of your dedication and desire to succeed. I am beyond grateful to have been able to serve as your president. I would like to thank the faculty, the staff, and the administration at Calabasas High School for all of their help and their support. Additionally, I would like to thank Mrs. Klein and the rest of the office staff who all play an extremely crucial role in the support team for our program. Moreover, thank you to all of the teachers who have been so supportive of our efforts. I would like to further offer an exceptional and significant thank you to our adviser, Mrs. Heukrodt. CHS is beyond lucky to have you as a part of their faculty team! These past three years you have watched me grow as a person and as a leader. Without you, I would not be the person that I am today. Thank you Councilmember David J Shapiro for invariably taking time out of your extremely busy schedule to offer such incredible support and assistance in our program; it has truly been an honor and a wonderful experience to work with you. Furthermore, Mrs. Foss, Mr. Scifres, and the rest of the administration team have been right by my side no matter what the circumstance was whenever I have needed their help. Thank you to Superintendent Dr. Stepenosky and to the Las Virgenes Unified School District Board of Education for being so supportive of our program and of our anti-bullying advocacy. Lastly, thank you to the CHS PFC for being so helpful, not only to Peer Support, but to our school as a whole. Laura- you are remarkable. You constantly give a tremendous amount back to this school and you are constantly ensuring that the Peer Support team has all of the necessary resources to be able to thrive and function effectively. The Calabasas High School community was lucky to have you; you served as an exemplary PFC President.

Lastly, congratulations to Peer Support President-Elect Katie Romanovich on her position. Katie is a hardworking, passionate, and caring individual. I am extremely confident in her and in the rest of the leadership team. I know they will continue on with the amazing progress and achievements Peer Support has accomplished and will continue to accomplish. Thank you to all; it has been an honor and a privilege to serve the student body and the community.

Thank you,

Spencer Hurwitz
