CHS PFC eNewsletter

December 19, 2014

Dear Friends:

Thank you to all who attended the free screening of the movie Bully last night.  The discussion panel following the movie was very informative and a great start in getting a dialogue going and sending the message that our community will not tolerate bullying.  We appreciate Patti Harris, Mayor David Shapiro, Peer Support, Assistant Principal Scifres, Counselor Christian Mach and CHS student panelists Sophia Mosbe and Brayden Ainsworth.

Please join us for our first PFC meeting of 2015 on January 5th at 9:30am in the Lecture Hall.  Regular PFC/school business will be discussed and we will be having a couple guest speakers as well.

On a personal note, we'd like to thank all of you for your support of the PFC.  We strive to make things better for the students and staff at CHS and with your help we feel the positive change.  Look for great things to happen in 2015 to benefit your children and how your financial support makes all the difference.  Together we are making things happen.

Enjoy the winter break.  We wish you all much joy!

College and Career Center

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE COLLEGE & CAREER CENTER! How about a little college-going gift for yourself?  Think about taking the time during the winter break to look up scholarships - no matter what grade your student is in.  Many scholarships will keep the amount in trust until the student is ready to go off to college.  Some good websites to start with are Fastwebs.comzinch.comscholarships.com, college websites and Naviance.  You can even get creative with Google.com to do specific searches for something unique to your student (multiples, religion, musical instrument, etc).

  • Students with flu-like symptoms should stay at home. Flu-like symptoms may include:
    • Fever (100 degrees F. or higher) or feverishness
    • Cough
    • Sore throat
