 PEER SUPPORT TEAM NEWS...
CHS Peer Support, along with the Stand For The Silent Club, is showing the movie "Bully" at 7 pm in the PAEC on December 17th. All parents and students within the Calabasas Community are invited. "Bully" is a documentary directed by Lee Hirsch and is about a student named Alex who was bullied. The documentary provides real footage of Alex being bullied and depicts how everyone has been affected by bullying, either being a victim, perpetrator or a witness that stood silent. CHS Peer Support aims to help create a bully-free environment at CHS and making our community aware of the negative affects of bullying is the first step.
As a reminder, students can always find Peer Support Counselors at FRIENDS in room H117, which is open every day at lunch. FRIENDS is a place, where students can relax, hang out with other students, meet new friends, and ask any questions students may have, so feel free to stop by.
Sincerely,
The Calabasas High School Peer Support Team

Come join the team in Torrance this Friday to support and cheer them on as they play the 2nd round in the CIF tournament.

CALABASAS WRESTLING 2014 ON THE MOVE!
The CHS Wrestling team started the season last week with a throw down over at the NJCS wrestling scrimmage. The team made a very good showing and several stand out matches bode well for the upcoming season.
THE NEW AND IMPROVED MARMONTE LEAGUE WRESTLING SCHEDULE
As fans of high school sports know the Marmonte League has received a facelift recently and the results are excellent for CHS sports and athletes. Our wrestlers will have a level of competitive equity that will allow them to strive for league championships and CIF divisional championships like never before. CHS Wrestling is up and coming and will be in the hunt for some major wins this year!
NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN CHS WRESTLING TODAY
CHS Wrestling has a tradition of winning over the past 20 years. This year the team is looking better than ever and we are looking to add quality student athletes to our program. Size is not an issue since we accept athletes as light as 100 lbs and as big as 285lbs - and we currently have 3 female wrestlers on the team - so there is truly a place for every interested athlete on the wrestling team.
CHS Wrestlers have wrestled for Stanford, attended Harvard and placed 5th in the OLYMPIC TRIALS!!
High School wrestlers compete in the Folkstyle wrestling format that emphasizes control and points. You will also learn modified mixed martial arts techniques that can be incorporated into your style of wrestling. Wrestling is the oldest sport on the planet and there's a reason it's lasted for well over 3000 years - it's a lot of fun!! The only question is why haven't you joined already??
See Coach Falk - afalk@lvusd.org - in room M4 during lunch or nutrition for more info.

HEALTH OFFICE INFORMATION
|
Notes From the Health Clerk:
It is recommended that students follow the below recommended practices by the California Department of Public Health for preventing the transmission of Enterovirus and other illnesses:
- Students with flu-like symptoms should stay at home. Flu-like symptoms may include:
- Fever (100 degrees F. or higher) or feverishness
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Body aches
- A feeling of being very tired
- Vomiting or diarrhea
Generally, health officials recommend that individuals who have flu-like symptoms should remain at home and avoid contact with others. They should do so until at least 24 hours after they are free of fever without the use of fever-reducing medicines such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
