CHS PFC eNewsletter

October 17, 2014

Dear Friends of the PFC:

A message from CALABASAS HIGH SCHOOL

Dear CHS Parents,

We have received information that a new App has surfaced that include posts from CJ Foss.  I assure you that I am not posting on Yik Yak, an anonymous social media app.  There are a number of articles regarding this site that you may want to read.

 http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2014/10/15/yik-yak-the-next-social-media-trend-or-new-site-for-bullies/

My suggestion is that you talk with your child about the dangers of participating in anonymous communication.  Not only is it hurtful to those referenced, it encourages bad behavior, and allows a forum for cowards.

Please find below some other links to websites that may help you assist your child in learning how to use today's interactive media intelligently and responsibly.  Together we can help them understand how to use the tools for the obvious benefits without leaving a cyber footprint that might penalize them now or later or that harms other people now.

You are welcome to email or call me with your thoughts and concerns.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Foss
Principal
