CHS PFC eNewsletter

October 10, 2014

Dear Friends of the PFC:

Thank you to those that submitted their student's information to PFC Directory Chairman, Nancy Yumkas.  Once the directories are printed we will post a notification in the newsletter so you know when to expect your child to bring your directory home.  Be sure to thank Nancy next time you see her ~ this is a HUGE job (...luckily for us, Nancy has a 9th grader!)

Wednesday night was College Knowledge Night at Agoura High School. This event was co-hosted by Agoura High School's PFC,  Oak Park High School's PFA and your Calabasas High School's PFC.  This informational evening has been an annual event for many years and we hope if you didn't attend this year you will be sure to attend next Fall at Oak Park.

Just a reminder that we have a 3 day weekend ahead! There is a district Staff Development Day on Monday, October 13th at CHS , therefore, school will not be in session and the parking lots will not be available for anyone other than staff.  Enjoy the extra time off with your family.

Many thanks,

Laura Ainsworth

R.A.P.

The first R.A.P. session of the year is 10-15-14 at 7 PM in the Calabasas High School Library.

I am thrilled to have Stephanie BienLMFTLPCC and Debra SedleyMFTI join us.

They have captioned the evening : "Helicopter Parenting: How to Circle Without Crashing."  I have to say I am looking forward to an energetic, lively discussion.  Parenting trends have shifted; kids have changed; the world seems more dangerous. How much is too much? Are we really preparing our children or holding them back?
I hope you make time for this evening;  it's topic affects all of us.

There is no charge for the evening but for space considerations, please R.S.V.P. to...

CHS Girls Soccer Fundraiser

Dear Parents,

You're invited to a wine and cheese party to raise money for the CBHS girls soccer team.  We have a fun and clever way of doing this where everyone wins including PFC parents. If any of you have gold and silver jewelry laying around - especially things you don't wear anymore - I know a reputable buyer (Jeff) who runs "Joe's Gold & Silver" in Beverly Hills. I've done three parties with Jeff before and he is fair and honest. He will buy your gold and silver jewelry and pay you cash. In addition - he will donate 10% of what he pays you to the girls soccer team. EXAMPLE: Jeff offers you $1,000 for your gold, silver or platinum jewelry. If you accept his offer he donates $100! Then, you also have the choice of matching or exceeding Jeff's offer if you wish. The good news is you will still walk away with lots of cash. Sound good? We hope you will come to our wine and cheese fundraiser  party (at my house) on Saturday October 25th from 3-5PM. AND please bring any friends and family you know who might have gold, silver and platinum jewelry. Jeff wanted me to pass along that though he will happily buy silver - it is worth much less than gold. For the fundraiser to be successful we ask that you dig through your drawers and bring GOLD and PLATINUM. You will make much more money. You can bring silver along as well. (If you have a set of sterling silver flatware that you want to sell - please bring that). Please see the Attached flyer and "save this date".

Looking forward to seeing you, having fun, and making money for all!
