Dear Friends of the PFC:
The start of the school year at Calabasas High has been great. It is so exciting to see a campus with happy students and staff.
We've had a lot of new enrollment and at least 13 International Students who will be attending CHS for a semester or two. Peer Support and ASB have been extremely helpful with all the transitions and keeping things fun during the first week.
Please help the PFC keep all the programs we sponsor going by donating to our Donor Drive. Any amount helps us fully fund Library Hours, the College and Career Center and Science Supplies. Watch our next PFC eNewsletter for all the things your PFC pays for. The PFC stands for Parent Faculty Club, but we also like to think of it as Please Fund Children.
Robin Lutsky, our College and Career Center Advisor, has already been hard at work setting up college visits to our campus.
Please check the section in this newsletter for the name, date and time of the visits.
Seniors, please keep in mind all the yearbook deadlines. You received paperwork regarding deadlines and options during registration.
There is no school Monday, September 1st for the Labor Day Holiday.
Always the best,
Laura Ainsworth
Lisa Wayne

PEER SUPPORT
Dear Calabasas High School students and parents,
We've had a very successful first couple weeks of school. Our movie night and meet and greet last friday night was a blast and we look forward to spending more time with all of our new students. As a reminder to all new students, Coyote Connect is MANDATORY on Wednesdays at support. It is crucial that all new students attend Coyote Connect meetings so that we can ensure every student's transition into high school continues to go smoothly.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
The Calabasas High School Peer Support Team

Come audition for this year's play, "The Diviners". It is the story of a disturbed young man and his friendship with a disenchanted preacher in southern Indiana in the early 1930s. First auditions are Monday and Tuesday September 8 and 9 at 3 pm in the Black Box. Callbacks will follow Weds - Fri at 3 pm. Playwright Jim Leonard Jr. later went on to write for TV series including "The Closer" and "Major Crimes".
Theater Booster Club meeting, Wednesday September 10 7:00 pm - Theater Boosters are the adults who give their time to help make the Calabasas High School theater program such a great success. Our productions have been compared favorably to professional regional productions, and that high quality is made possible from the help of our volunteers. We take tickets, print programs, build sets, raise money - and meet once a month to stay on top of what our theater department is working on. Join our great group for the first meeting of the year. We are also seeking volunteers to be our VP Box Office, and Cookie Dough fundraiser, and to be our Summer Musical liaison.

COLLEGE VISITS WILL BE STARTING SOON!
College Representative Visits are a big part of the College Planning process. All grades are always welcome to participate. Some colleges look for "Demonstrated Interest" in their applicants. This means they want to know that the student made an effort to attend an information session for that college either at their high school, on the college campus, or at a local event (held in a hotel ballroom, at a private home, etc). When attending a visit on our campus, students should always sign in or hand in an information post card -- this is how the colleges know you've shown your interest.
**PARENTS are welcome to attend the College Visits but must refrain from asking questions or taking up the representative's time until
after students have left.
College visits are posted weekly on the PFC e-Newsletter, on Naviance and on the window of the College and Career Center. Check back often! Colleges are booking all the time. For further information please contact Robin Lutsky at rlutsky@lvusd.org.

|
Notes From the Health Clerk:
If your student's Immunization File is incomplete, you need to contact Mrs. Levin in the Health Office at ext. 223 ASAP.
ALL medications must be stored in the Health Office (except Inhalers/EPI-Pens) and ALL must be documented by a new permission form each new school year. The form may be found on-line or in my office.
Kids coming to school with medical appliances (crutches, boots, casts, etc.) must also have documentation from their doctor specifically mentioning which appliance they are using.
I am working on my R.A.P. dates for the coming year..Please keep your eyes and ears open..I will be presenting some very dynamic guests.
