Dear PFC Friends:
There are so many people to thank for making RACI (registration) a huge success last week! First and for-most, Mathy Wasserman, Rachel Werner and Nancy Wei for running the whole thing! Thanks to ALL our volunteers for working wherever they were needed from one hour to all four days. Special thanks to staff Marla Klein, Lorrie Thompson and Patty Dern in the Administration Office and to our volunteer parent Nancy Yumkas for heading up the counselor station for students to get their schedules changed. Thanks to parents and students for being so supportive, positive and grateful. It was the best 4 days of registration we have ever had!
A quick shout out to Cyndi Bartok for bringing the staff breakfast on Monday, and working the staff luncheon along with Nina Zerman.
Please join us for our first PFC meeting of the year on Monday, September 8th at 9:30am in the Lecture Hall. Coffee and food will be served. If you haven't already done so, you can sign-up to join the PFC, as well as look at the volunteer opportunities list and see where you may want to help this year. We will have sign up sheets at the meeting.
Our annual DONOR DRIVE is going on now. Please contact our Fundraising VP's Cyndi Bartok cyndibartok@yahoo.com or Nancy Ng-Gray groganhead@aol.com to donate. Any amount is greatly appreciated!
We'd like to welcome our new Assistant Principal Steve Scifres. AP Scifres comes to us from Agoura High School.
There are a lot of upcoming activities, so please be sure to check all the information below. In addition, most things PFC will be posted and linked to the CHS website which is in the process of being updated and reworked. We are also on FB, send a friend request to Chs Pfc!

ComedySportz Tryouts, Thursday-Friday, August 28, 29 3:00 pm - Think you're funny? Try out for Calabasas High School's ComedySportz teams - where comedy is a competitive sport. Throughout the year, you'll be trained in improvisational comedy. Then participate in head-to-head meets where whoever gets the audience to laugh most goes home with the last laugh. No experience needed, but you've probably spent your whole life making people laugh, right?
Theater Booster Club meeting, Wednesday September 10 7:00 pm - Theater Boosters are the adults who give their time to help make the Calabasas High School theater program such a great success. Our productions have been compared favorably to professional regional productions, and that high quality is made possible from the help of our volunteers. We take tickets, print programs, build sets, raise money - and meet once a month to stay on top of what our theater department is working on. Join our great group for the first meeting of the year. We are also seeking volunteers to be our VP Box Office, to head up our Donor Drive, Spring fundraiser, and Cookie Dough fundraiser, and to be our Summer Musical liaison.

COLLEGE VISITS WILL BE STARTING SOON!
College Representative Visits are a big part of the College Planning process. All grades are always welcome to participate. Some colleges look for "Demonstrated Interest" in their applicants. This means they want to know that the student made an effort to attend an information session for that college either at their high school, on the college campus, or at a local event (held in a hotel ballroom, at a private home, etc). When attending a visit on our campus, students should always sign in or hand in an information post card -- this is how the colleges know you've shown your interest.
**PARENTS are welcome to attend the College Visits but must refrain from asking questions or taking up the representative's time until
after students have left.
