Performing Arts Picnic, Monday, August 18, 6:00 pm - Every year, students with a love of theater, music, and dance get together for fun and to chat about expectations for the new year. There is sure to be lots of speculation on what the Fall and Spring productions will be, and Mr. Garrett is sure to be there with news.
ComedySportz Tryouts, Thursday-Friday, August 28, 29 3:00 pm - Think you're funny? Try out for Calabasas High School's ComedySportz teams - where comedy is a competitive sport. Throughout the year, you'll be trained in improvisational comedy. Then participate in head-to-head meets where whoever gets the audience to laugh most goes home with the last laugh. No experience needed, but you've probably spent your whole life making people laugh, right?
Theater Booster Club meeting, Wednesday September 10 7:00 pm - Theater Boosters are the adults who give their time to help make the Calabasas High School theater program such a great success. Our productions have been compared favorably to professional regional productions, and that high quality is made possible from the help of our volunteers. We take tickets, print programs, build sets, raise money - and meet once a month to stay on top of what our theater department is working on. Join our great group for the first meeting of the year. We are also seeking volunteers to be our VP Box Office, to head up our Donor Drive, Spring fundraiser, and Cookie Dough fundraiser, and to be our Summer Musical liaison.

COLLEGE VISITS WILL BE STARTING SOON!
College Representative Visits are a big part of the College Planning process. All grades are always welcome to participate. Some colleges look for "Demonstrated Interest" in their applicants. This means they want to know that the student made an effort to attend an information session for that college either at their high school, on the college campus, or at a local event (held in a hotel ballroom, at a private home, etc). When attending a visit on our campus, students should always sign in or hand in an information post card -- this is how the colleges know you've shown your interest.
**PARENTS are welcome to attend the College Visits but must refrain from asking questions or taking up the representative's time until
after students have left.
Monday Sept. 15th @ 3:00 Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN
Wednesday Sept. 24th @ 3:00 American University, Washington, DC
Tuesday Sept. 30th @ Lunch Emerson College, Boston, MA
