FRESNO, California (March 1, 2013) - KNSO Telemundo 51 Fresno announced the debut of an energized evening and late newscast beginning Monday, March 4. Noticiero Telemundo Fresno has an entirely new team working together to offer the Hispanic community of the Central Valley a fresh news outlook. The enhanced local news, weather, entertainment and sports airs Monday - Friday at 6pm and 11pm. Noticiero Telemundo Fresno will compliment its on-air reporting with additional coverage on holaciudad.com and via facebook and Twitter.
Lucero Benitez is the lead local reporter. A graduate of Fresno State's School of Mass Communication and Journalism, Ms. Benitez's passionate reporting and intimate connection with the community gives viewers unique insight on local stories of importance to the region's large Hispanic population. Sports anchor, Juan Francisco Ramirez is a California native who found a passion for sports reporting through his participation as a player in the Chivas de Guadalajara soccer program. Javier Castro will present local and regional weather. The new Noticiero Telemundo Fresno is anchored by Blanca Garza, an award-winning journalist with over 20 years in the industry, and veteran newsman Cesar Bayona.
