Letter from the Headmaster

Let's have a chat. If you don't already have plans for next Tuesday evening, come on over to the Reading Room in the Mansion around 6:30. We'll have some light refreshments and talk about what is happening at Rivermont.

We have three weeks of school under our belt, and naturally some questions are surfacing. How can I find out about my child's assignments and grades? What is an advisor, and what does she do? Who is ISACS, and why are they visiting campus?

Good answers to good questions can go a long way toward having a successful school year. As a school, we desire to keep you informed about what is new, what has changed, and what is coming up, so that you can rest assured your child is having a positive educational experience. So, I invite you on Tuesday to meet some other parents, learn more about Rivermont, and enjoy An Evening with the Headmaster.

Interim Headmaster

Celebrating the Middle Ages
Monday, September 14th

Chris Szymanski, a former Navy Seal and member of Team USA for the Medieval Battle World Championship in 2013, will be here on Monday along with his wife Toni, who recently completed her doctorate in gifted education at UI and has been appointed to Western Kentucky University's faculty. They will share their love of history, honor, and making international friends.

Toni will bring her Elizabeth I costume and various 14th-century reproduction items of clothing. They will bring extra armor so students can try on the pieces. Chris, who travels the world competing in medieval battle competitions, (They were in Russia this summer.) is planning to demonstrate a real medieval battle.

Chris and Toni are scheduled to meet with various PE classes during the day.
