Letter from the Headmaster

Happy Friday Rivermont Families!

It's been so nice to see our temperatures rising and I know the students are happy to be able to spend so much time outside during recess and lunch. I hope everyone has the opportunity this weekend to enjoy the weather.

Over the past year, members of the faculty and staff have been very active in reaching out to the community. We have told our school's impressive story to a wide number of community, civic and business groups across the region. Not only is this a great way to re-introduce the school to the Quad Cities, but we have also been able to establish some remarkable partnerships. But, we are always looking for new avenues to continue this outreach. If you are a member or know a member of a group that may be interested in hearing a little more about Rivermont, please let us know. We would be delighted to meet another friend in the
Quad Cities.

We also have a few dates coming up that I would like to highlight:
  • Next Tuesday (April 7) kicks off our Family Art Night at 6:00 pm in Becherer Hall. There will be a separate viewing for Preschool and Junior Kindergarten students and families that morning at 11:00 am. This is a wonderful opportunity to see our student's imaginations and creativity in action. A huge thank you to our exceptionally talented Art Teacher, Colleen Tomlinson, for making this night so special.
  • Our spring Upper School play is rapidly approaching next Friday and Saturday Night (April 10th and 11th). The performance this year is actually composed of two separate one-act plays; A Simple Task" by Alan Haehnel and "The Big Black Box" by Cleve Haubold. This promises to be another wonderful performance, so please come out and support all our performers.
  • The first Rivermont Chess Tournament is on Saturday, April 11th. For more information, including registration, please see the flyer on the Becherer Hall activity board.
  • There are still openings available for our Summer School program, but some classes have already sold out. If you are still interested in signing up for a class please see
    Mrs. Paget.

Wishing everyone a fun and safe weekend.

All the best,

Todd Zachary

Headmaster
