Headmaster Letter

Dear Rivermont Parents and Families,

I'd like to thank everyone for their patience as we work through this winter together! In the interest of safety, this week's Evening with the Headmaster was rescheduled on short notice. We understand this last minute change didn't work well into everyone's schedule and have received a number of requests to repeat the Middle and Upper School portion of the evening. For this reason, we have scheduled a repeat session of the Middle and Upper School portion of Evening with the Headmaster to be held Tuesday, February 18th from 6:00-6:45 p.m. in the auditorium. Cross your fingers that the weather cooperates and we are able to gather to discuss the exciting things happening at Rivermont!

This year, Rivermont introduced a new Faculty Assessment Program to provide faculty valuable feedback and help chart their future professional development. This was a much needed and welcomed program and parents play an integral part in the process. During the third quarter, faculty members are assigned an administrator who conducts a classroom assessment (as well as gathers a myriad of additional resources) in preparation for the faculty member's assessment and professional development conference. A critical part of this process is the parent feedback survey. This survey is now available on Rivermont's website. While your feedback is not mandatory, your input is incredibly important and provides valuable insight for our faculty. Simply print the survey off the Rivermont website, complete it, and return it in an envelope to either Mrs. Paget or Ms. Burrell. Your surveys will be held in the strictest confidence and while responses will be tabulated for discussion with the faculty member, the actual survey with your name will never be shown. Please feel free to complete a survey for any and all faculty members who have worked with your children, whether in the classroom or in a sport or extracurricular activity. We greatly appreciate your time and feedback.

Best,

Todd Zachary, Headmaster
