Have a great week!
Creating Congregational Cultures of Generosity
The informational flier and registration form are now posted on the the conference website.  We have also included the registration form for the Winter Rendezvous meetings, as they coincide with the CCCG event.  Keep in mind that the pastor and one finance or stewardship person from each church will have their transportation and registration cost covered to attend the CCCG event.  More lay members are encouraged to attend if they are able but their transportation costs would not be covered.  We want to thank the Tuell Center again for their generosity with this event.  The CCCG event will be held at UMC of Chugiak on February 18-19, 2016.
Money Apportionment Report
Here is the apportionment report as of December 31st.  There are a few churches with only one payment remaining.  It isn't too late! Contact the Treasurer's office (Pam or Craig) and let them know if your check is in the mail!  You have until January 11th to contact them.
Imagine No Malaria Imagine No Malaria
Every year when December comes around, Imagine No Malaria Field Coordinators across the country start singing, "All I want for Christmas is the World Malaria Report!" The World Health Organization publishes this annual summary of malaria data from surveys, medical records, and government reports. It's a nerdy thing to look forward to, but I love it! If we're serious about fighting malaria, then the statistics really matter. They're our best indicator about whether or not our efforts are paying off. Today, I'm sharing the highlights of the 2015 report with you.  Read them here.
No Gift from Christmas Weather
Catastrophic tornadoes and flooding that occurred in multiple states over the Christmas holidays directly affected some United Methodists, and many others joined relief efforts. A tornado destroyed a United Methodist church in Lutts, Tennessee, and members of a handful of United Methodist churches in Texas lost homes. Read the story here.
Living into a New Reality
Throughout the last half of 2015, United Methodists in Austria and Germany provided an array of services to refugees and asylum-seekers arriving from Syria, Afghanistan, North Africa and elsewhere. Read the story here.

Start with this webinar focused on the new member of the Stewardship Team, Finance Committee, or Church Council - those who are looking to get started on the right foot. If your work in the church deals with people's giving, you know the importance of that responsibility. Bathe your work in prayer. Remember, you are not alone; there are places to find help! As you enter the New Year, reflect on these ideas that could make your job the best one in the church!

Local Church Lay Leaders and Lay Members to Annual Conference have a role and responsibility to promote the role of laity as we work to fulfill our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
