sparkly-4-july.jpg Independence Day Resources
The Fourth of July celebrates the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America, but these worship resources from United Methodist Discipleship Ministries may be used for the Independence Day of any nation.
Methodist Logo Same-Sex Ruling Adds to Church Debate
United Methodists had varied reactions to the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling that establishes same-sex civil marriage as a constitutional right.  But many United Methodists agree on one point: The decision likely will escalate a longtime denominational debate on the church's position on homosexuality.  Church law bans clergy from blessing same-sex marriages and forbids churches from hosting such ceremonies.  United Methodist New Service reports.
More Volunteers Needed
AK Child & Family is still looking for a few more volunteers to help with their Flag Day celebration. Flag Day is on Thursday, July 9th.  Please contact Angie Rush at [email protected] or 348-9255 if you want to know more information or are interested in helping out.
