Birchwood Camp News
2014 Music and Drama (MAD) Camp performances
Music and Drama (MAD) Camp will be held at Birchwood Camp on June 23-29, 2014. At the end of the week campers will be performing the musical that they have learned & prepared during their time at camp. This year the musical is The Rock Slinger and his Greatest Hit, the story of David & Goliath, which uses humor and drama to share how God teaches us to overcome our struggles and be true to ourselves. Please spread the word to your churches: All are invited to attend the shows - come out and support the campers! - The first performance will be at First UMC on Saturday, June 28 at 7:00pm.
- The second performance will be at St. John UMC during the evening worship on Sunday, June 29 at 6:30pm

Relief-Supply Web Page
Replenishing UMCOR depot shelves to meet future emergency needs is always a concern, especially with hurricane season upon us. Use the relief-kit content instructions on UMCOR's Relief-Supply web page to purchase the items needed to fill school kits, health kits, layette kits, bedding packs, and sewing kits. All are in demand right now. You can also support this vital ministry with your gifts to Material Resources, Advance #901440, to enable UMCOR to purchase the necessary items for each relief-supply kit. |
UMCom Video About Alaskan Samoans
In case you missed our Facebook post from last week, we shared a video that United Methodist Communications put together after interviewing the Samoan congregations in Alaska. You can watch the video here. We are proud to have this ministry here in our Conference! Thank you UMCom! |
Native American Mother/Daughter Singing Duo "Sayani"
A Native American mother and daughter singing duo would like to come to Alaska and share their singing talents with us. They have already been invited to perform at New Hope Methodist-Presbyterian Church in North Pole but need more churches to perform at to make their trip up here cost effective. They do this full-time as their ministry and travel the world sharing their gift of music and Christian message.
To learn more about "Sayani," Jorie West and her daughter Christie West, you can go to their website at www.donajoe.com. Contact them at 817-757-2297 or Jorietx@aol.com if you are interested.
