Imagine No Malaria Imagine No Malaria by Julia Frisbie
Alaska has raised 30% of its goal! Congratulations, that's wonderful! I'm eager to share some new resources
with you

On our inm.greaternw.org website, I've been collecting useful information on the Toolkits page (under Resources). There's a whole section for local churches, as well as resource kits for many different events.

One of the events coming up quickly is Mother's Day. Since malaria disproportionately affects mothers and small children, please consider saving lives with your church on this holiday! Our Mother's Day Toolkit has everything you need for a successful alternative gift campaign.

Selling Fair Trade Products

Selling fair trade products in your local church or community is one way you can support the livelihoods of small-scale farmers around the world, in observance of World Fair Trade Day, May 10.

Through UMCOR partner Equal Exchange, you can identify the best ways to promote fair trade through Equal Exchange's Community Help Hotline. Learn how to gain support from your pastor, brainstorm ways to improve product sales, and how to educate your community about fair trade and its impact on farmer communities.

Every time United Methodists and friends purchase fair trade products through the UMCOR Coffee Project, a portion of every pound sold goes to UMCOR's Small Farmer Fund to support farmer co-ops and sustainable agricultural projects. Visit Equal Exchange now to learn more.

Spanish For Ministry & Life! August 18-19, 2014
Spanish proficiency is an increasingly useful skill for ministry - and life! Come meet our neighbors in Mexico and learn Spanish while immersed in Mexico's rich culture and warm hospitality. Whatever your current ability, this experience is tailored to your level and will build on what you already know.  Led by Rev. Gregory Norton of Westwood UMC, Los Angeles, in the California-Pacific Conference.  Learn more details at www.ggnorton.com - click on "mexico 2014."
Facebook Transitions and Facebook
In the quickly changing day and age of social media, some clergy are unsure how they should handle Facebook with previous parishioners.  Here is a resource for pastors who are in a church transition and dealing with Facebook.
