Hello

Last newsletter in our Coming Soon section of the newsletter I announced the wood stabilizing
Dink Says, "A man and his surfboard, waiting for the rad kahuna wave action. Gunna run the pipes Dude. Life doesn't get any better than this."
vacuum systems. We did actually get them in but we had customers calling us to order them as fast as we could unbox them from our supplier. We sold out faster than we could get them on the website.
We have more in stock now and we have the new Wood Stabilizing page published to the website.
I apologize for not having a newsletter out in August. Everything seem to hit us at once and before we knew it the month of August had passed us by. As many of you know we had a death in the family. Tracey's nephew, CJ, was in a fatal car accident. Our entire family was in awe of the number of people who attended  his wake and funeral.  He will be missed by so many.   The man was a true pillar in his community.
Thanks to everyone who sent their condolences and prayers, we appreciate it greatly.
Tracey and I will be out of town for a week this month starting on September 8th and we will return on September 16th. While we are away Curtis, Ryan and Pam will be processing the internet orders and Pam will be returning the phone calls.   They are a GREAT crew and will take good care of  you!

Tracey's Two Cents Worth:
I tried my best to get the Marine Inlay you've been asking for completed in time for the September Newsletter but I just couldn't quite make it.  I'm close, very close and will jump right back on it when Tim and I get back in town.    I WILL have it for all of you who have been waiting by the end of September!  Hopefully I can get one or two more done too but we'll see.  As always, even though I don't do custom requests, feel free to send your suggestions.  I add them to my wish list and if I get enough interest I'll come up with a design.

We have a new mold for casting polyester blanks with the tube already inside. These molds have been available for quite a while but at an extremely over inflated price. We have managed to get the price down by buying the rubber casting medium in large amounts and pouring the molds in quantity. We are able to produce the molds and sell them for $22.49 each. For this month only we will introductory price them at $20.99 each. We will start out with the mold for the Monet/Sierra/Wall Street II/Mesa and will follow it with a mold for the cigar pen kit. We will eventually have molds made for most of the major top selling kits. All of which will be similarly priced.
Our video this month will take you through the steps of pouring your resin and casting objects which have been secured to the tube into clear polyester resin. You can use the mold for colored resins as well. The idea is that as expensive as the resin is, we hope to lessen the waste and help you get more out of your resin purchase.
The mold is designed so that you will only need to mix just enough resin to
make a single blank and therefore the waste is drastically reduced.
The resin we sell is Silmar 41 which we get from Interplastic Corporation in 500 pound barrels. I get lots of phone calls about the quality of the resin because of the low price which we sell it for. This is the same resin which is packaged as name brands such as "Castin Craft". Our resin is fresh and will create crystal clear and clean castings when used as directed.

WHAT'S NEW

As you have read above, Our new Resin Miser mold for the Monet Pen kit is ready for release. We will be following soon with the mold for the Cigar Pen and then we will wait to see which mold is in greatest demand from our customers to decide which mold we make next.
The Monet mold can also be used for the Sierra, Mesa, Gatsby, Wall Street II, or similar pen design. It will not work to make blanks for the "click" versions of these pens. The mold is not long enough to accommodate the longer tube required for the "click" pen. That will
be another mold in the future.
The new Poly Pearl blanks for this month are Tranquility and Neapolitan. Be sure to get some and check them out. The colors are just simply dazzling. The pastels, blues and oranges are a great compliment to each other and the Neapolitan pictured below looks good enough to eat.
As for inlay blanks, the military wins again. Tracey has developed a blank for the US Army and the US Navy.
There are a lot of women golfers who wanted a golf silhouette blank for their special pens. As you can see Tracey came through and the female golfer is available.
We have the replacement rubber tips now for the stylus tips. They come five to the pack for $4.45. Now if your customers lose one or wear one out, you can replace it for them.
The HoldFast resin stabilizing systems are now available and displayed on the website. You will not be able to order directly through the website due to the wierd shipping requirement for them. Please give us a call to order the systems and the resin or coloring agents and we will be happy to help you out.
We have the Brushable Latex Mold Builder from Castin Craft. This is great stuff for making your own casting molds and to get all the details exactly right. This is not a pen making product but is used by folks who want to make their own copy molds for figurines and other items which require a lot of detail transfer.

COMING SOON

As I said, we will be coming out with molds for many different pen kits in the near future. If there is a particular mold that you would like for us to make for you, and we can see a demand for it, we will be happy to make it up.
It is a long and expensive process to make the molds that we use to make these silicone molds. We will not make molds for proprietary pen designs. It is just not cost effective.
Tracey has been working on an inlay blank for the US Marine Corp. The details are a bit tricky and the design is taking it's toll on her time but the end result will be absolutely grandeur.
Curtis will  be making a Camo PR blank this coming month just in time for the hunting season. Be sure to check out next months newsletter.

We are waiting for your feedback on the Resin Miser Molds. The top requested mold for the month of September will be the mold we make for November. Next months blank as I said will be the Cigar Pen Blank Mold.

Sincerely,

Tim Nicholas
