There will be scheduled activities for campers and counselors throughout the two days, as well as adult centered programming. Lois Gaylord

"Life has gotten extremely busy in a very good way"

On July 13, three of Kadimanik Lois Gaylord's pieces were included in a new show that opened at the Center for Spiritual Living. There is some lovely work on display. Most of the show is on the second floor. Now through August 25. Free admission.
Center for Spiritual Living is located at 5801 Sand Point Way NE in Seattle. (206) 527-8801.

On Sunday, July 28, Lois will be demonstrating Tablet Weaving as part of the Artists in Action At the Port of Edmonds Public Plaza. Check out the website to see all of the other artists who will be there. Artists in Action is going on every Sunday through the end of August.

Lois was ecstatic to learn that she had won three awards at the Association of Northwest Weavers Conference at the end of June. From the juried show, she received an Honorable Mention for Best Interpretation of Theme for her piece Path to Avodat ha'lev, The Work of the Heart. Two collaborative pieces that were in the fashion show also won awards. Lois did the pattern drafting and sewing for weaver Marjy Fiddler whose vest won Second Place Best "Inspiration from a foreign country" and Joan Rasken whose jacket won Second Place Juror's choice award.

Lois had some professional photographs taken of her new challah covers. She posted one of them on her Ceremonial Cloths page of her website. The covers come in three color-ways, and Lois plans to put them on her Etsy site. If you want one sooner, just let Lois know.

And one last thing...Lois recently posted the next installment of her 'Art Story' on her blog.

Make love, not war! Lysistrata is a woman on a mission, rallying the women of her community to put an end to a senseless war by denying their husbands their most basic desires. It's the ultimate battle of the sexes! Aristophanes' audacious story of an anti-war sex strike is brimming with innuendo and bawdy fun that has soul stirring insights into the folly of war and the struggles between the sexes. Purchase tickets.

Theatre: We Won't Pay! We Won't Pay!

Nobel prize winner Dario Fo wrote We Won't Pay, We Won't Pay! as a hysterical piece of comic activism. This farce is a playful romp full of heart and high jinks, ultimately illuminating the buoyancy and resiliency of the human spirit as it comes up against everyday life struggles. Think Lucy and Ethel, Laverne and Shirley, Roseanne and Dan, and you'll know what to expect when you meet this cast of buffoons. Purchase tickets.
