Kasbah nighttime

Our Auction was Big Fun and a Big Success

We went to the Kasbah and we rocked it! The results of Kadima's auction far exceeded our predictions and expectations. Thank you to everybody who came and bid and raised your paddle to support Kadima! Our thanks to those who sent a donation because they couldn't attend the auction.

The food at the Kasbah was perfection! The restaurant's ambiance transported us to Morocco, "the land of a thousand kasbahs."

The auction was lively, as always, and we could hear that the children were having a good time in "the tent room." Howard Choder was, as ever, an excellent auctioneer. Talented dancers, singers, musicians, and thespians wowed the audience with their talent show performances.

We thank everyone who helped before, during, and after the auction: Charlotte · Howard Choder · Kathy Gallagher · Lana · Lily · Mary Bea Gallagher · Carla Ginnis · Richard Ginnis · Suzanne Hellerstein · Sima Kahn · Valerie Leaf · Sharron Lerner · The Kadima Trio (Richard Ginnis, Larry Greenberg and D'vorah Kost) · and Stan Schiff. We attempted to list everyone  who volunteered and we regret any omissions.

Thank you to the individuals, families and businesses who donated goods or services to the live and silent auctions: Anonymous · Hilary Bolles · Doug Brown · Burgermaster · Kevin Cain · The Comedy Underground · Dick's Drive-Ins · The Firebird Saxophone Ensemble · G & H Printing · Andree Gagnon & Paul Duren · Kathy Gallagher & Larry Greenberg · Mary Bea Gallagher · Lois Gaylord · Richard Ginnis · Henry Gordon, Balabuste Catering · Wendy Graff · I. Haseley · Joe Hellerstein · Hothouse Spa & Sauna · Julia's Restaurants · Kadima · Kadima Board of Directors · Sima Kahn · D'vorah Kost · Landmark Theatres · Carolyn McConnell & Jonathan Rosenblum · The Montsaroff family · Parlor Live Comedy Club · The Parsley family · Seattle Baroque Orchestra · Seattle Mariners · Elisabeth Silver · Janet Staub & James DeLong · Taproot Theatre · UW World Series · The von Preyss-Friedman/Friedman family · and Janice van Cleve.  We hope we listed everyone and regret any omissions.

Thank you to everyone who donated a dessert to the dessert auction. We don't know all of your names. We will publish them at a later date. Thank you so much for taking the time to create or procure sweet treats for us.

Thank you to the talent show participants. We really enjoyed your amazing  performances: The Firebird Saxophone Ensemble · Kathy Gallagher & Sharron Lerner · D'vorah Kost & Steve Rosenbaum · Mary McKenzie · and Carla Ginnis & The Kadima Trio.

Thank you Kasbah Authentic Moroccan Restaurant for your hospitality, excellent food and service, and magical venue. Thank you, Sharron Lerner for planning, coordinating, and executing another memorable and wildly successful Kadima gala, auction, and talent show.

About The Gatekeepers: Charged with overseeing Israel's war on terror--both Palestinian and Jewish--the head of the Shin Bet, Israel's secret service, is present at the crossroad of every decision made. For the first time ever, six former heads of the agency agree to share their insights and reflect publicly on their actions and decisions. The Gatekeepers offers an exclusive account of the sum of their successes and failures. It validates the reasons that each man individually and the six as a group came to reconsider their hard-line positions and advocate a conciliatory approach toward their enemies based on a two-state solution.
