Second Annual Kadima Hanukkah Art Sale a Great Success!
Buyers and sellers alike had a great time at Kadima's art sale last Sunday. People were captivated by the beauty and variety of the art, and they enjoyed meeting the artists and visiting with each other. Many Kadimaniks and friends stopped by, and we were delighted to meet so many folks who were visiting Kadima House for the first time. Business was brisk -- the receipt book pages were flying. Luckily, our cashiers and customers were quite agile at mental math! We were surprised and thrilled when Bettina Hansen, staff photographer from The Seattle Times, stopped by to see what was happening. She took many photos. One of them was published in Monday's paper (page B4). You can also see Bettina's photo on the bulletin board in the foyer of Kadima House. Thanks to everyone who came to the sale. We thank Lois Gaylord for organizing and executing this grand event. Thank you to participating artists Lois Gaylord, Wendy Graff, sooze bloom de Leon grossman, Jordana Rene, Elisabeth Silver, and Kadima's Team Ra'am students for creating so much beautiful art and for being ever helpful and cheerful. Thank you to Kevin Cain for his help before, during, and after the sale. Thanks to Lauren Plawner for the delicious food at Kafe Kadima. And, thank you, Kadima students, for moving your classroom for the day. See you at next year's sale!

Tunisia has a long Jewish history - Jews were present in North Africa before the arrival of Islam or Christianity. In good times they prospered and in hard times they bore the brunt of discrimination, but now they are at risk of extinction. Of 100,000 before the creation of Israel in 1948, only about 1,500 are left. Continued And more!________________________________________________________________
