North Hills Elementary School Briefly Evacuated Today
North Hills Elementary School evacuated all students, faculty and staff at approximately 12:15 today, Monday, May 9, 2016, in response to a fire alarm sounding within the building.
Students were evacuated outside to the designated safe zones in accordance with the school and district Emergency Policy & Procedures.
Fire department personnel and district maintenance and custodial workers inspected the building and determined the building was safe to reenter within less than 10 minutes. Students, faculty and staff returned at that time.
Please know that student safety is of utmost concern to all of us in Central York School District. By evacuating the students, we were able to ensure their immediate safety and take the steps needed to ensure their continued safety and security in our building.
North Hills Elementary School Principal Kevin Youcheff shared this information directly with North Hills families via e-mail and will send a letter home with each student this afternoon.
