In the event that weather conditions require Central York School District to delay the start of schools or close schools and offices, we will share the information several ways with our faculty and staff, families and community. Please note that we communicate this information using several methods and channels to ensure you have multiples ways to learn the most updated information concerning school and office hours when weather is a concern.
**District Website & Social Media: We will post news of any delays or cancellations on the homepage of our District Website, www.cysd.k12.pa.us, as well as on our Facebook Page, www.facebook.com/CentralYorkSD, and our Twitter Feed, @centralyorksd. These posts are live by 5:45AM when school is delayed or closed.
**Automated Phone Calls: We send automated phone calls to parents/guardians of all of our students, as well as to all faculty and staff, whenever we have a delayed start or closing to report. These calls should be received between 5:45 and 6:15AM. If you are in doubt and have not received a call, please check our website and social media sites for the most updated information.
**E-mail Notification: We send an e-mail to all of our E-News subscribers in the event of a weather closing or delay. These are sent between 5:45 and 6AM on the morning of a delay or closing. If you are not currently receiving our E-News, you can
subscribe here. **News Channels: We notify the major news networks of any school closings or delays, including WGAL Channel 8, FOX 43, ABC 27 and CBS 21. If you are in doubt about the way a news channel has listed our school closings or delays, please check the District website or social media sites to confirm.
