Parents/Guardians Invited To Take
"Move The Pride Day" Survey

In June 2015, Central York School District hosted "Move The Pride" for all students entering grades K-12 in the 2015-2016 school year.

Move the Pride is a program through which ALL K-11 grade learners had an opportunity to visit their new, 2015-2016 classrooms or schools and meet their new teachers and classmates before the end of the 2014-2015 school year.

The District would like parent/guardian feedback on the program and your family's experience with it. We will also be surveying our faculty and our students about their experiences.

To take the Parent/Guardian Move the Pride Survey,  please click here. Your responses are confidential and will be used to help enhance the program for June 2016.

Thank you!

CYHS Student Wins First Place for Mobile App Development at National FBLA Conference

Congratulations to Central York High School junior Alex Santarelli who, during the summer of 2015, won first place in the Mobile Application Development category of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference in Chicago.

FBLA is a non-profit education association that encourages students to prepare for careers in business and business-related fields. The National Awards Program recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas.

Student competitors such as Alex must first compete at the state level, where top winners are invited to compete for honors at the National Leadership Conference held annually each summer.  As part of the competition, Alex had to present his mobile app in a first round of competition and was selected, out of 60+ competitors, to proceed to the final round of judging, where he was named the winner.

Alex's mobile application is a CYHS app (see the picture, below) developed last year and available in the iTunes app store for both iPhones and iPads. It enables users to receive updates and information about Central York High School and Central York School District. To download the free app, visit the iTunes store and search "CYHS." It is listed with the Education apps.

Alex was also recognized in a recent York Daily Record article, along with Central York High School class of 2015 graduate Alyssa McDevitt, that focused on how today's students are using technology in and out of school to create, program and code.  To view the article, click here.

Please join Central York School District in congratulating Alex on this tremendous achievement!
