2013 Walkathon Wrap-UP

WE DID IT!   ALL OF US TOGETHER!

The final numbers are in.  Through the work of everyone at the school, students, staff, parents, friends and the community, we raised $20,000 at the Walkathon.  A special thank you goes to Jenny Dammarell our Walkathon chair and her team for motivating us and to Monica Blackburn for her inspiring and humble way of approaching businesses to support our school.

Not only will this money benefit our school, we are able to send a sizable check of $2,000 to Father Tom Hagan and Hands Together for the important work in educating, feeding and clothing children in Port au Prince, Haiti.    As one student who was counting up his walkathon donations remarked, "I would really like to win the Kindle Fire, but then I think of those children in Haiti who only have mud pies to eat."

Thank you to all who gave to benefit our own children's education and to also reach out a hand to the poorest of the poor in Haiti.  If you would like more information on Hands Together and its work in Haiti, visit www.handstogether.org.
