Ten Years!
2015 is going to be a big year. In September, a little over ten years after the first groundbreaking in James City County, the asphalt for the Virginia Capital Trail will finally stretch all the way from downtown Richmond to the Jamestown Settlement. Get ready for one awesome celebration--actually many awesome celebrations, at least one per locality--in October of next year.
In just six months, on May 9, we'll be celebrating ten years of the Cap2Cap bike event, the VCTF's largest fundraiser. Now THIS will be a celebration. Thanks to incredible volunteers, enthusiastic and loyal participants, and generous sponsors, this ride has grown into the largest of its kind in the region. Every year, Richmond.com includes it on its list of Best Outdoor Events. We're really proud of this accolade, and use it as motivation to continue to up our game.
2015 will be the best ride yet, with the Williamsburg routes taking full advantage of the 27.5 miles of Trail completed in James City and Charles City counties. Imagine riding for hours safely separated from car traffic! Plans are in motion for a post-ride celebration appropriate for ten years of coming together in support of our Trail. Click here to find out more, or register (huge discounts happening right now for early bird signups) or email us if you're interested in sponsorships or volunteering. As always, we'd love to have you all.
We hope you will share the moment with us on May 9, and again in October when we cut the final ribbon and celebrate the completion of this regional gem.
