Cap2Cap 2014: May 10 -- Registration Is Live!

Register Now and Save a Bundle

Early bird registration is now open for next year's Cap2Cap. Until January 1, 2014, registration is $60 for the shorter distances and $65 for the century. We also have youth pricing, so bring the whole family! Register now.

Everyone knows putting a spring event on the calendar means you stay motivated over the winter, and you exercise a little more when you have a goal. Coerce a couple of friends to join, and -- voila! -- you've got your social calendar taken care of, too.

What's on tap for 2014?

In addition to upping our game in all areas of the Cap2Cap experience, here are some specific features of the ride we hope will bring you back again:

A brand-new venue for Williamsburg: We'll be taking over Sullivan Square and Legacy Hall in the middle of New Town to crank up the fun factor. Stay tuned for more details!

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery is back on board for another round of Capital Trail Pale Ale. Look for more merchandise, and possibly an earlier launch date for this delicious trail support in a can.

Get your first-ever pair of Cap2Cap socks designed by Roger Sattler, the creative genius behind our eye-popping jerseys. Order yours when you register.

New routes: We'll be taking you through beautiful New Kent County, as well as some new parts of Charles City County. We'll let you know as soon as these awesome new routes are finalized.

Cul's Courthouse Grille is planning on supplying those incredible homemade brownies again at one of the Feed Zones.  They are smackyourmomma fantastic.

We're working on new partnerships to continue the Cap2Cap tradition -- an unforgettable day of riding and celebrating in support of the Virginia Capital Trail. Whether you are 8 or 80, we want you to call our biggest fundraiser the Best. Event. Ever.

Get directions to trail access points and view nearby attractions, lodging, equipment rentals, and more with a few easy clicks. We're still adding photos and information, but take a look and let us know what you think. (Hint: Viewing in full-screen mode will allow you to see the full trail.)
Good News Around the Region

Richmond is making progress on getting approval for its first bike boulevard. This is an exciting project. Read more about why these boulevards are a positive development: Go, Richmond!

Williamsburg was just awarded a bronze designation in bike friendliness from the League of American Cyclists: Go, Williamsburg!

Let's hear it for the Virginia Capital Trail connecting not just historic capital cities, but destinations where bikes and pedestrians have safe places to ride and walk. This means great things for the whole region!

Great Shiplock Park Ribbon Cutting

Thank you to everyone who joined us on October 15 for the official opening of the Western Trailhead of the Virginia Capital Trail. Mayor Dwight Jones delighted the large crowd with his emphatic pronouncement that the downtown Richmond portion of our trail will be complete by June 2014. That's just seven months away -- incredibly exciting! Stay tuned to our Facebook page and newsletter for updates as construction progresses.
