The Amazing Raise

Please support the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation in this year's Amazing Raise fundraising event, hosted by The Community Foundation, serving Richmond and Central Virginia. This 36-hour online giving challenge encourages individuals and businesses in our region and beyond to come together in support of local nonprofits. Each donation of $50 or more we receive at www.virginiacapitaltrail.org/amazingraise from Wednesday, September 18, at 6 am until Thursday, September 19, at 6 pm will not only support the mission of the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation, it will also put us in the running for additional grant funding. If you plan to include the VCTF in your annual giving this year, now is a great time to make your donation.

We have a lot to do in the next two years, including putting signs and lots of great amenities along the entire 50+ miles of the trail. We're also enhancing our web presence so that visitors can access all the attractions, history, and wildlife along the trail online as well as in person. These and future promotional efforts for the Virginia Capital Trail are what your contributions will help to fund. Thank you for your generous support!

Ribbon Cutting at Great Shiplock Park Trailhead

On Tuesday, October 15, at 2 pm, join Mayor Jones and your fellow VCTF supporters at Great Shiplock Park in Richmond, where we'll be cutting the ribbon on the beautiful new Great Shiplock Park trailhead. Because we're so excited about this, we're also planning a post-ceremony reception, so check your inbox in the coming weeks for more details. This one deserves a YIPYIPWOOTWOOT!

Richmond Marathon Health & Fitness Expo

Come see us at Booth 38 at the Anthem Richmond Marathon Health & Fitness Expo. More importantly, we'd love some volunteers to help us out.  Job description?  Man the VCTF booth, talk to very friendly people, answer their questions about the trail (we'll help you with this), talk about next year's Cap2Cap, get some free pizza from the vendor snack area, cajole other vendors into giving you free stuff.  It's a lot of fun!

When:  Thursday November 14, 5 pm - 9 pm and Friday November 15, 11 am - 9 pm
Where:  Arthur Ashe Center, 3001 N. Boulevard, Richmond, Va 23230

Email us if you can help us with a two hour shift:  [email protected]

We love our volunteers!
