Thinking of our heroes in Boston

Cap2Cap Ride
I keep hearing that the long winter we just bid a fond farewell to has kept people from training properly for the Cap2Cap.  If this is the case with you, you have a couple options.  First, get out there and make up for lost time.  Or, bump yourself down in distance and go for a shorter route this year.  You'll likely be glad you did, as you enjoy the post-ride party without nausea.
But whatever you do, don't skip it altogether.

Here's why.  First, you need the exercise.  Don't take this the wrong way, but a leisurely cruise through beautiful eastern Henrico and Charles City County will do you some good, and whatever preparation you can squeeze in in the next 24 days will also do you some good.

Second, if you're hesitant because you've never done it and think you'll stick out, fear not.  With 2200 other participants, sticking out just doesn't happen.  Plus, this group of riders is about the happiest bunch of people you'll ever meet.

If you've not signed up yet, do it today.  The price goes up at midnight tonight.  If it's your first time, you'll see what all the buzz is about.  If not, we're glad you're back and hope this is your best one yet!

See you on May 11,

We're still looking for a few good volunteers.  It's a great day of fun, and yes hard work.  Here are some jobs we think you might enjoy:

 Expo volunteers

    • Course marshals-- Riders LOVE you
    • Take-down helpers-- It doesn't sound sexy, but these people often score delicious leftovers and extra giveaways.
    • Late arrival cheerleaders--Our most inspiring riders appreciate this.
    • Registration/packet pickup--These folks usually get to the donuts first.
    • Lunch servers -- This is where the action is.
    • Ride Week helpers--You can sleep in on Saturday
We also have a volunteer raffle that you will automatically be entered in.  Last year one of our precious vols won a Trek Bike!  Stay tuned for this year's prize.
