President's Message
By Sue Manley
Explosions, marshmallow towers, scavenger hunts, a river tank ecosystem, iPads and Promethean boards - what a fantastic opening for Shady Grove's STEM lab. Mrs. Doyle, Ms. Lynn and Mrs. Arthur have done a fantastic job creating an amazing kinesthetic learning environment for our Cardinals. And a special thank you to Mrs. Raderer, Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Schools for putting together a wonderful evening to showcase some of the fun ways our kids will get to experience Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Thank you to all of you who support the PTA and make it possible for us to provide these great tools and opportunities. Next month will be our Reflections Recognition Program, and I'm excited to say that we have 148 entries this year. I look forward to seeing "The Magic of a Moment" as interpreted by our Cardinals.

Morning Traffic Information
By Dr. Schwab
This message is to ensure that all of our parents are aware of the traditional traffic patterns that occur beginning at this time of year. On dark, cold mornings, more parents choose to drive their children to school. Therefore, to keep everyone safe and on time for school, please follow these three guidelines:
- Leave home five minutes earlier than usual.
- Remain in your car and let your child disembark on the passenger side.
- Pull all the way around the loop to the stop sign before stopping.
Consistent with school attendance laws, children are considered tardy if they enter the building after the 7:40 AM tardy bell. Finally, in order to promote traffic safety, Henrico schools encourage parents to use school bus transportation whenever possible. Thank you for your support!
