We love all our supporters, those amazing people who give their time, money, and passion to the cause of providing every Redwood City School District kid a great education. We're not jealous at all when they spend their time with other organizations, or receive awards in recognition of their awesomeness. We know they have hearts big enough for everyone!
We were honored recently to share RCEF board member Barbara Pierce with the Peninsula Arts Council when she received its Diamond Award for her outstanding contribution to the arts in San Mateo County. Our Music for Minors partner Sonja Palmer also received a Diamond Award, as did our long-time RCEF friend and Redwood City Civic Cultural Commissioner Warren Dale.
Spectrum Magazine owner Steve Penna, who is active in many organizations in Redwood City, received a Golden Apple Award for his support of education from the Chamber of Commerce, based on our nomination. Steve has served for a number of years as an honorary host of Benefit for a Brighter Future and has been an invaluable friend to the RCEF and our school kids.
We congratulate and thank Barbara, Warren, Sonja, and Steve, and all of our dedicated supporters for their work on behalf of our students.
(Don't forget, you can nominate your volunteer inspiration for the Pat Crawford Inspiration award. See how to make your nomination.)
