This local string band that hails from Westchester is a market favorite! They play traditional American roots music, including Swing, Western Swing, Popular Standards, Bluegrass and Old Time fiddle tunes featuring guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and bass.

Tours of the John Jay Homestead Historic House Museum are available during the Farm Market at 10am, 11am, 12pm, and 1pm; and following the Market at 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm. Tours last approximately one hour.

Tour tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and students with ID, children 12 and under and Friends members are free.

Tickets may be purchased in the Carriage Barn Education and Visitor Center.

Hello Early Birds! Come join Bedford Audubon's Naturalist-in-Residence Tait Johansson at 8:00 am this Saturday the 5th for a bird and nature walk on the grounds of the John Jay Homestead. Come for the walk and stay for the Market to support our local farmers! All levels and abilities welcome. Meet in the parking lot. No registration necessary.

 

Bring your knives this week for sharpening! Last chance to get your knives sharpened by Nick the Knife. He will be doing his artisanal quality sharpening of cutlery, including shears, clippers, scissors and serrated knives. For sale will be his all purpose chefs helper knife and Japanese high-carbon steel chefs knives.

 

Featured Vendor Mt. Holly Farm will have Sweet Potatoes, Lacinato and Curly Kale, Garlic, Watermelon Radishes and French Breakfast Radishes, Arugula, Tomatoes, Sun Gold Tomatoes and Eggplant.  

 

We are pleased to welcome Chef Erica Wallace of Erica's Kitchen in Bedford. She will prepare a beautiful, delicious and nutritious dish that is a great way to use up veggies that you have on hand. This week she has selected vegetables from Mt. Holly Farm. Come meet Erica from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm and sample what she has created!

 

John Boys Farm, another Featured Vendor, will have fresh chickens, pork, beef, eggs, duck eggs, Canadian bacon, shoulder bacon, regular bacon, hot/sweet Italian, chorizo and breakfast sausages.

 

Beehive Designer Collective of Mount Kisco is a Guest Vendor this week. For those of you not familiar with this unique gift shop you must come and discover it. As the gift giving season approaches, it is the perfect place to shop...and support many local artists at the same time.

 

Wave Hill Bread, who won the "Best Bread" award from Connecticut Magazine, will be offering up their award-winning breads and pastries.  If you want a special order of more than four croissants, please email them at wavehillbreads@gmail.com  and they will have them waiting for you at the market.

 

Mt. Kisco Seafood will have New England Clam Chowder, cooked Lobsters for $20 and Crab Cakes, as well as a nice selection of fresh fish. 

 

Fall has come to Rich Brownies! They will be bringing their Pumpkin Cheesecake Brownies and Pumpkin Blondies this week. They will also have 3 types of Flourless (Gluten Free) Brownies- Double Dark Chocolate, Sweet & Salty Caramel and Peanut Butter Flourless.  Stop by their stand for a sample!

 

Lou from JD Farms will have the last of the corn, popcorn, tomatoes, a variety of winter squash including Delicata, Acorn, Carnival & Butternut...lots of apples...Yellow Delicious, Honey Crisp, Macoun, Cortland and Gala!

 

Johnny Gelato will have Cinnamon, Oatmeal Brown Sugar and Maple Walnut and of course Pumpkin....the hands down favorite!

 

This is the last market date for Table of Condiments. They are featuring their Apple Butter! It is made with freshly picked local apples and pressed cider. Enjoy this old fashioned classic...cooked for over 10 hours to the point where the sugar in the apples caramelizes to a rich deep brown color that will keep you warm on those cool autumn and winter mornings...enjoy with toast and butter, a warm scone or on the side of pork & chicken. They are offering their delicious Candied and Savory Nuts at a special price this week: two bags for $20 and their jarred products (Apple Butter, Green Tomato Relish, and Peach Compote): three jars for $20. Stock up for the Holidays!

John Boys Farm

John Boys Farm is situated on 185 acres on the Battenkill River in Cambridge, NY. They raise registered Black Angus cattle, registered Berkshire pigs, chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys. They grow their own grain using only non-GMO seed, which is pesticide and herbicide free. Each week the grains are mixed and ground adding the highest quality vitamins and minerals and no antibiotics or hormones are ever used. All cattle and pigs are born on the farm. They maintain their own breeding herds and care for them long term. All of their animals are raised in the most natural of settings, both outside on pasture and in the woods, providing a completely stress-free environment...happy animals, happy farmer!

Mt. Holly Farm

Mt. Holly Farm is a fruit and vegetable farm located in Katonah, NY. Providing their children, Max and Landon, with the opportunity to help grow their own food was what inspired Kelly and Shep to start the farm. They grow about 40 varieties of nutrient dense seasonal fruits and vegetables without the use of herbicides or pesticides. They believe in strengthening the soil by applying organic compost, various minerals, and other natural soil supplementation. The results of their hard work can be seen and tasted in their beautiful bounty!
