Carriage Barn Education & Visitor Center a huge success!  

  

The new Education & Visitor Center in the restored Carriage Barn opened in May 2013 and we have seen a 20% increase in visitors to the site. Over 3,000 people have visited the center to date, and we expect hundreds more will visit over the next month.  

 

There are 5 other Discovery Centers where you can dress up, play with colonial toys and games , milk a mechanical cow and plant seeds.

 

The Carriage Barn and Discovery Centers will close for the season on October 31stand reopen on April 1st, so plan your visit soon! The Carriage Barn and Discovery Centers are open 7 days a week, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm through October 31st.

 

The Main House remains open Saturday through Wednesday for hourly tours,

10:00 am to 3:00 p.m.

Help us close another season of the Homestead Farm Market with a craft activity and cider pressing in our new Potting Shed Discovery Center.  This is a free walk-in program for families with children ages three to ten.

2013 Founders Dinner  

Friday, Novenber 1, 2013
6:30 P.M. 


On this special and elegant evening, our guests will enjoy cocktails in the period rooms, dinner in the ballroom, and dancing in the conservatory.  The event will include presentation of the Founders Award to Friends Trustee John H. Freund, Chairman of Trinity Packaging, Inc.  The award recognizes John's passion for American history, and his leadership support of our education programming, engaging over 5000 children who visit the Site each year. 

 

Ticket prices for the Founders Dinner range from $500 - $2500 per person.  Silver Tables for 10 at $5,000, Gold Tables for 10 at $10,000 and Platinum Tables at $25,000 are also available. 

 

Reservations for the Founders Dinner should be made early, as the seating is limited.  John Jay Homestead State Historic Site is located at 400 Jay Street in Katonah, NY.  For more information or to purchase tickets or an advertisement in the Dinner Journal, please call (914) 232-8119 or e-mail friends@johnjayhomestead.org.
