WHAT'S AT MARKET
We have a great lineup of vendors for Saturday, there will be 26 in all...here's a sampling of what you'll see at market this week:
We are featuring one of our new vendors, Wild Virginia. If you didn't pick up their Fig Balsamic Vinaigrette yet, you're missing a real treat! It is one of those vinaigrettes that you can use on anything...try it as a marinade for steak or on your favorite mixed greens or salad...I like it drizzled on a watermelon salad for a light, refreshing taste. This week I'm going to try their Miso Sesame. Ellen likes it on grilled chicken or fish...just coat it, let it sit for a few minutes and put it on the grill or pan fry...it is also the perfect dressing for salads, wraps, or simply as a dip for veggies.
Returning vendor Amazing Real Live Food Co. is another feature this week. They are all about local cheeses. This week in addition to their selection, they will have Berkshire Blue Cheese and Hudson Red (a stinky, but mild flavored tallegio style cheese), both are made with sweet Jersey milk...from their friends at Falangas comes fresh Mozzarella, a nice pair with those early tomatoes. Best of all they will be offering to John Jay Homestead farm market shoppers...this week only...a special batch of Raw Milk Tomme, made with Jersey milk from the famous High Lawn Dairy, and loaded with butterfat! This is a fascinating, rich cheese with a Northern Italian profile....everyone will love it. In addition all sales over $50 this week will receive a 20 % discount off their sale. As you can see it's all about Jersey for ARL this week...check it out! Mt. Holly Farm joins the market this week with more of their beautiful French Breakfast Radishes, Fresh Garlic, Kale, Hakurei turnips, Summer Squash and Zucchini...look for them in their own booth this week! Spice Revolution is back this week! Linzi will be featuring a nice variety of Sea Salts, including a course Grey Sea Salt from France, a pink Himalayan Salt and Hickory Smoked Sea Salt. Try her Spiced Biscotti with Chocolate along with your favorite Big Bang Coffee for a morning "pick me up"! Red Barn Bakery is taking pre-orders for pick up at the market for another of Randell's creations: Organic Gluten-Free Blueberry Crumb Pie, please call 914-231-7779 now to order. Last week, two lucky families took home the two Wave Hill Breads Brioche Pan Loaves. Not to worry...they are bringing more this week...slice it and make into incredible French Toast or toast it and serve with Pate. They will have plenty of Pain au Chocolat (Chocolate Croissants) on hand. On any given week, if you want to order more than 4 of any croissant, please email them at orders.whb@gmail.com by Tuesday, and include your phone number. Conant Valley Jam returns to the market! This week's seasonal selection includes Totally Organic Strawberry Jam, Totally Organic Strawberry/Rhubarb and new Ginger Peach. Vegan wraps on sprouted bread will be the highlight at Jnana Organics and they will have a variety of salads, juices and chia puddings. Want to cool off with something refreshing...try Ladle of Love's Chilled Cucumber Yogurt Soup; it's a must have for this summer! It will be sold in their mason jars for a special price of $7/pint. Revolving vendors not to miss this week are: Conant Valley Jams, Spice Revolution, Wild Virginia and Vita Pulita.

FEATURED VENDORS
Amazing Real Live Food Co.
Owner: Rory Chase
In 2007, Rory, started The Amazing Real Live Food Co., a small farmstead cheese producer, at the family's Chaseholm Farm Creamery in Pine Plains, NY. He retrofitted a barn his grandfather had built in the early 30's to serve as a Cheesemaking Plant and Aging Cave. The Creamery produces a variety of cheese, most out of the French Tradition...including an extra creamy 'Chaseholm Camembert', as well as a soft ripened cousin, hand shaped logs, rolled in sea salt and vegetable ash, just shy of a double cream, the 'Chaource style Moonlight'; a soft, "boursin" style set of Herbed Farmers Cheese in several flavors, and two Raw Milk Cheeses. The first is a Tomme style, 'Stella Vallis'; aged three to four months and the second is 'Alpage', an alpine style; aged a minimum of ten months, both of these cheeses have edible, washed rinds. They also produce the Latin classic, 'Queso Blanco', which comes in either Sea Salt, Herbs de Provence or Chili Pepper...it won't melt and it is great to cook with. The company is committed to producing restorative food and drink and make products that honor the body as a living organism and promote good health.

Wild Virginia
Owner: Ellen Best
Life should be authentic, not artificial. Ellen Best hails from Pound Ridge and has been making the Fig Balsamic Wild Virginia dressing/marinade for 20 years. Her family loves to eat salads and she got to working on her own natural salad dressing because the store bought alternatives were not healthy choices. Wild Virginia is made with all-natural ingredients, yet it has a fun side, with robust flavors that make traditional salads seem a little bit more...untamed! She recently added the Miso Sesame flavor. Both flavors use 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)- no thickeners, water, or other oils...now you know where the name Wild Virginia comes from and it stands alone in terms of nutrition, quality and homemade flavor.
