Fall Faces & Places

 
Look for big picture frames at businesses around La Crosse (including the Museum) throughout the autumn color season (through October 31).

The Mt. LeKid climbing wall is open on Saturdays and Sundays only through the school year. Age 5+ and full coverage shoes (no flip-flops) required.  

 

Weekly Preschool Programs:

 

These weekly preschool programs are FREE with admission/ membership and do not require pre-registration; however, class size is limited so check in early/on-time and be prepared that some sessions may be full. Parental involvement is expected.

  

Sparkling STEMs: Science-related activities. Tuesdays at 10:30 am

 

Little Learners: Story, craft and snack. Thursdays at 10:30 am

 

Wee Move: Music and movement, led by Miss Shayna from Misty's Dance Unlimited. Fridays at 10:30 am.

Saturday, October 11: Historic Downtown La Crosse Day. Fun for the whole family throughout downtown La Crosse, including photo booth at the Children's Museum (included with Museum admission.) www.lacrossedowntown.com. 

 

Friday, October 17: Night out at the Museum, 5:30-8:00 pm. Supervised Museum play for ages 3-12 without adult. Pre-registration and pre-payment required. $11 per child Museum members / $16 per child non-members.

 

October 16-19: Wisconsin Science Fest. Fun with science at the Children's Museum and other Wisconsin locations. Learn more at www.wisconsinsciencefest.org.

Choose either evening for a non-scary Halloween party with games, Museum play, prizes, safe place to trick or treat, and more. Costumes encouraged but not required. Pre-registration and pre-payment required.

 Friday, November 7 - Friday, November 14: Global Initiatives Week. Several organizations are participating in this week-long celebration in the Coulee Region to increase awareness of our connections around the world. The Museum will host special around the world activities during Little Learners on November 13, and Wee Move and Night out at the Museum on November 14.

 

Saturday, November 8: Physics Demonstrations, 10am and 12:30pm. UWL students will teach us about physics with hands-on activities/demonstrations. Included with admission.

 

Sunday, November 9: Girl Scouts Daisy Red Carpet Show, 1pm-4pm. Learn how to design, create your own designs, and then show off your new styles on our red carpet. $14.00/scout with chaperones free (1 required per five scouts). Includes snack, take-home project, and admission to the Museum. Pre-registration and pre-payment required. Register online here.  

 

Friday, November 14: OUR WORLD - NIGHT (out) AT THE MUSEUM, 5:30-8:00 pm. Supervised Museum play for ages 3-12 without adult. Pre-registration and pre-payment required. $11 per child Museum members / $16 per child non-members.

Thursday, November 27: MUSEUM CLOSED. Happy Thanksgiving!
The Museum will resume regular hours on Friday, November 28.
