Eusi and Helen: From helpless to heroes.

Hello,

Last year, Helen and Eusi hid under a table in their bathroom while Typhoon Yolanda ripped their house apart. This summer, Eusi trained with our engineers and learned to build a house that can survive typhoons.

Eusi's family finished building their new home in October.

Nine days ago, another massive storm, Typhoon Hagupit, struck their town. Helen and Eusi had the best housewarming we can imagine - they turned their home into an informal evacuation center, welcoming the families of 17 of their neighbors into the safety of their well-constructed, sturdy home. They rode out the typhoon together, in the safe (if cramped) house that Eusi had built. There were no casualties in Sulangan.

You can help us train more hard-working builders like Eusi, who then build safe homes for their neighbors. Please help us train more people in safer construction

Everyone wants to keep their family safe. Your donation transforms the lives of builders like Eusi and empowers them to build safe, permanent homes that protect their neighbors. Please donate today.

Thank you,
