A Week Indeed!
This past week has been a whirlwind at Grace as staff member, Janet, prepares to launch into the pace of retired living after holding down the fort for many days.

Alongside filling our minds (and several notebooks) with Janet's parting wisdom, we have started constructing our new website to fulfill a whole new way of communicating aimed at inspiring deeper connections and increased opportunities for ministry.

(Can't you just feel the excitement?!!)

We hope to have this site live by the end of June. In the meantime, please visit www.graceec.org for the latest news. Click on the "Sunday Bulletin" button in the left-hand column for a preview of the 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and Noon service bulletins.

In the 10 a.m. bulletin you will find:
  • the names of those we wish to keep in our prayers
  • upcoming event announcements
  • names of those celebrating birthdays or anniversaries this week

In the noon bulletin you will find additional announcements in Spanish.

This week @ Grace returns Monday morning.

Blessing of the Bikes & Ride the Drive

This Sunday participants in Madison's "Ride the Drive" will roll past Grace on bicycles, skates, wheelchairs, and almost any non-motorized way imaginable.  It will be a great morning!

Click here to see the route and plan your transportation alternatives.  Then bring your wheels to church!  During Coffee Hour, Jonathan will conduct a "Blessing of the Bikes (and other assorted wheels)" in the courtyard.  If you ever have the occasion to ride in downtown Madison, a blessing might not hurt!

Sign up for a Farewell Cruise!
When staff asked Formation Director, Lauren, how she'd like us to celebrate her journey from Grace to her new role as an associate minister in the suburbs of Chicago, she jokingly replied, "I'm so tired of cake.  How about a cruise?"

Of course we couldn't agree more!  While we will be throwing a Coffee Hour party for Lauren at Grace on Sunday, June 30, complete with some sort of sweet goodie, we are also inviting any member of the congregation to join us on a farewell Betty Lou Cruise on Thursday, June 27.

As of this morning, the 4 p.m. "Beer & Pizza" cruise for June 27 has 50 seats left.  The cost is $33 per adult and $20 for children 12 and under (1 and under are free).  If you think this is something fun you'd like to join in on, please visit this link and reserve your spot as soon as possible:
http://www.bettyloucruises.com/cruisedetails.php?CruiseID=230

As is the tradition at Grace, we would also like to send her off with a financial purse as a way to show our gratitude for her service to Grace.   Please write checks to Grace Church with "Lauren" in the memo and drop in the offering plate or mail checks to the attention of Deb Cook, our new Financial Administrator, at church.  We will collect the checks and present them to Lauren during Coffee Hour on June 30th.

And don't forget...
People from four Madison parish healing prayer teams will be gathering on Saturday, June 1, from 10:00-11:30 at the home of Margaret Irwin, 6989 Apprentice Place, Middleton, and you are invited, too. We will watch a video by Walter Wink on "Jesus' Way of Healing". Wink was a biblical scholar, theologian, and activist and an important figure in progressive Christianity. We'll also have time for discussion and a chance to get to know one another. Please let Margaret know if you plan to come: 833-0843; mirwin@tds.net.
