The Cathedral of St. John in Providence, R.I., closed in 2012, will reopen as a racial reconciliation center and a museum focused on the history of slavery in Northern states. In Richmond, capital of the Confederacy, another church wrestles with their legacy. St Paul's Episcopal Church is discussing the Confederate imagery incorporated into their stained glass windows, kneelers, and memorial plaques.  Some of the imagery recasts Civil War generals as Old Testament figures. August 23: New evidence that Nigerian church received millions from 90's military regime. Evidence has recently come to light seeming to show that the Anglican Church of Nigeria received more than five million dollars from the regime of the military ruler Sani Abacha, to allow bishops in the church to attend the Lambeth Conference in 1998.
