The last few weeks have stepped us through the ending of an old cycle of learning. The full Moon of Oct 27th catapulted us into one of the most profound periods of the year. We stand on the cusp of a new cycle. This is the time of Scorpio - the season of resurrection, harvest, and Thanksgiving.
As we cooperate with Scorpio's drive to Become, we can make great strides in developing the gifts that live within our core. The recognition of oneself is the essence of every spiritual practice. In facing and healing the shadow aspects of ourselves, we can step into our true roles and potential. The ability to transform, transmute, and rise above is the Spiritual power of Scorpio. Scorpio at its highest level is self- understanding, self-mastery, and our Divinity. The exalted faces of Scorpio are depicted by the eagle and the phoenix. In many wisdom traditions, eagle represents God/Source/Great Spirit and phoenix represents the Christ Consciousness, resurrection, and the beginning of a new cycle.
As November unfolds, many of us recognize that we are leaving past creations. More importantly, we are recognizing the roles that we played in those creations. This is empowering and evolutionary. November heralds a time of new visions, dreams, and aspirations as we clear the way for our true selves to speak. The following may offer some perspective on the lessons of the Self that we have been navigating through:
- Universe asks us to take off our individual masks. Our persona's and images were not created by accident. We built then to fit in, to be accepted, to be loved, to over -compensate for or camouflage some perceived flaw. Over time, our Light and humanity has gotten lost behind our masks. Now, our Truth calls out loudly behind them to be acknowledged. It seeks real connection and authenticity. This is sacred territory but frightening for most of us. It takes love and courage to show up for ourselves and reveal our hearts. First, tune in and listen to your heart. Hold it softly. You are getting reacquainted with yourself. Forgive what is no longer you. Then, take positive steps in your outer life. You are worthy of freedom and joy.
- Each of us have been trained to believe that we must suffer to be beautiful, to grow, to be lovable. With that, we unconsciously create crisis (individually and collectively) . We fight for our worth and struggle to grow, to align with Spirit, or to be loved. It's time that we break free from those age old machinations. We can grow, love, and thrive through joy but it involves our relearning ourselves as discussed above. Equally powerful, is our surrendering of any thought, belief, or emotion that causes us to react to life with ego, fear, or malice. This includes the ways that we sabotage ourselves or play the victim or victimizer. This time, more than any other, requests that we shed everything that is not authentic about who we are.
In energetic contrast to the depths we have been through, November replenishes our spirits. It carries hope and great potential. We've been working up to this for a while so we are more ready than we allow ourselves to believe. Every life experience up until this point was meant to make us question our reasons for doing what we do. They were meant to open our eyes to the Greater Picture and our place in it. Now, we are asked to Feel our way into a new vision for ourselves, to trust that process, and follow through with new decisions that affirm what we have learned. There is harmony to be found in November if we are attentive to our inner-life, our relationships, and observe with compassion the ups/downs of our collective re-balancing.

In Closing
As I reflect upon the road we have traveled this year, the words of Jack Kornfield come to me: "Sooner or later we have to learn to let go and allow the changing Mystery of Life to move through us without our fearing it, without holding and grasping."
