When I made the very small drawing on paper that ended up being the image for this quilt, I didn't really know it would be a quilt. I just wanted to do some pictures of trees and houses, subject matter close to my heart. Then I thought it might be fun to see it greatly enlarged and printed onto fabric. And it was indeed very exciting to unfold the piece of fabric and to see how it looked in such a large size and on fabric. When I loaded the piece onto my longarm machine and began the stitching, it was exhilarating to do the quilting in any way I wanted, to simply trust, allow and follow my instinct.
