My Fabric Shelves
These are my fabric shelves. I like to keep them covered so that I'm not continually tempted to begin a new quilt every time I see some colored cloth. The covers on the shelves are from my old house where I used them as curtains on my windows. Some of them are a little faded from the sun shining in, but I like faded things. I used to make a lot of these patches for applique t-shirts and for borders on quilts. I still have a few that I'm saving for whenever a quilt calls for a fun addition. Lately, I've been doing quite a bit of organizing of my studio, this past week I completely sorted through my stash of fabric; gave some away, threw some in the trash and saved some very precious small scraps. I also discovered some large pieces I didn't know I had. It feels great to do this because it makes me aware of just what I have and what I still need. Back in the late 90's, I had a wonderful personal organizer named Christy, who taught me so much about how to get things in order. I think we met every week for about 5 years. From her, I learned how putting things back where they belong and letting go of all of the stuff I no longer need frees up my energy and space for new, fun stuff, new friends and new creative opportunities for my quilts!

WILLINGNESS I am willing! I have the willingness to move forward and to move beyond appearances. If someone I love very much is temporarily angry and misbehaving; I refuse to take it personally. I have the willingness to look at the bright side-to see all the good around me, and to keep on loving me and to keep on loving my loved one even if they are not loving me right now. I have the willingness to move through the situation and to walk, one step at a time toward the beautiful Light. 11x35" painted art quilt If you would like purchasing information for this piece, please click here. |
