Limited seats are still available for One in Five Minds Presents: A Conversation with Liza Long this Monday, October 14, in the Whitley Center at the Oblate School of Theology.
This event is a great opportunity to hear a parent's perspective on raising a child contending with mental illness. A panel discussion with local mental health experts will follow the conversation.
The event is presented by Clarity Child Guidance Center, sponsor of the One in Five Minds advocacy campaign, and the Oblate School of Theology.
Liza is an author from Boise, Idaho, and the mother of four exceptional children (three boys and one girl), one of whom has a mental illness. Following the Newtown shootings in December 2012, Liza wrote the blog post, 'I Am Adam Lanza's Mother': A Mom's Perspective On The Mental Illness Conversation in America. The Rivard Report recently profiled Liza Long. Read more about her story here.
During the conversation this coming Monday evening, Liza will discuss her experiences when her blog post went viral, as well as life raising a child with a mental illness. Robert Rivard, publisher of the Rivard Report and former editor of the San Antonio Express News, will interview Long and moderate questions from the audience.
To reserve your seat, please RSVP today.
One in Five Minds was founded to raise awareness, to end stigma and to increase access to treatment for children whether or not their families can pay for it. Will you become an advocate? Learn more here.
