HealthSense Update

During an emergency, CoxHealth is ready because our goal is always the same: to provide second chances, and new beginnings.
The Level I difference

CoxHealth recently was awarded Level I Trauma Center status by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

What does access to a Level I Trauma Center mean for you? It means we have everything in place to cover the entire spectrum of care for seriously injured patients. That includes a trauma surgeon on site 24 hours a day; round-the-clock access to more than 20 specialties; a dedicated trauma clinic for follow-up care and more. Learn what makes the difference when you have an emergency.

A little boy saved

Trace, 5, was working on his family's farm when a horse got spooked and stepped on him. He was taken to Cox Monett, where doctors told Trace's father that he had internal bleeding and the situation was grim. He was flown to Cox South Emergency and Trauma Center, where the trauma team rushed him into surgery to repair the damage.

Meet the trauma team

At your Level I Trauma Center, a dedicated team stands ready. The moment an emergency happens, they spring into action.

Meet Kiera, a paramedic who is first on the scene; Shelly, a flight nurse who starts life-saving treatments on the way to the ER; Larry, a chaplain who supports families during their toughest times. These are just a few of the team members who make your care their utmost priority.

Creamy White Chili with Turkey

This turkey and white bean chili is a healthier, low fat twist on traditional beef and bean chili that is high in fat. It's a great dish to use your leftover turkey, too.
