According to Raul, community development work found him - not the other way around. He first heard about AmeriCorps while he was in school. Back then, all he was interested in was a full time job to support himself. But the more he learned about AmeriCorps, the more excited he was to get to work.

 

"I was really drawn into it at the interview. It was the questions they asked - about working with people, identifying the assets in the neighborhood, bringing people together -that's what got me interested in being a Community Connector through AmeriCorps."

 

And he's been doing it ever since.

  
  
Reverend Dianne Wyngarden Mugg Retires:
 19 years of service at Good Samaritan Ministries

Good Samaritan Ministries will be holding an open house on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in honor of Rev. Dianne Wyngarden Mugg's 19 years of service to the organization. Dianne has accepted a new position at 2nd Reformed Church in Zeeland as a Pastor of Care and Calling. A public open house will take place at Trinity Reformed Church located at 712 Apple Ave. in Holland from 4pm - 6pm. Refreshments will be served.

WOMEN WHO CARE

Awarded over $20,000 to Good Samaritan Ministries. The money will be used to renovate Nuestra Casa, the house that will be used for a gathering place in the Westcore Neighborhood where neighbors can share their gifts and talents and build community together.
