FAITH IN YOUTH PARTNERSHIP DIRECTOR
Why are you excited about working for Good Samaritan Ministries?
I am really thankful to be working with an established organization that is proactively working to address the needs that are identified by their own community. It is a wonderful opportunity to step into a role that is designed to nurture community partnership through AmeriCorps.
What is your background?
I was an AmeriCorps Member myself running an after-school program for at-risk youth in an inner city high school in New Jersey. The following year I became the AmeriCorps Program Director in Paterson, NJ; and because of that experience I decided to continue my education with a Master's Degree in Counseling. Recently, I have relocated to West Michigan, and I am thankful to have found Good Sam.
How do you hope to grow the Faith in Youth program?
Faith In Youth has a tremendous track record for providing successful programming for at-risk middle school aged youth. My goal in moving forward is to continue to build a strong partnership for all of those involved with AmeriCorps and continue to strengthen the services provided for youth who are at a critical age.
