A prayer for mentors

As we celebrate mentoring month, we would like to offer a special prayer for mentors...

Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. --Psalm 25:4-6

Lord, you are the greatest teacher and mentor anyone can know. You are all-knowing, all-seeing, patient, selfless and compassionate.

As I mentor those you have given me to lead, let your Spirit guide me and give me strength. Let me bless your dear children and let each of them blossom and grow as they feel YOUR LOVE reflected through me. Amen.

Interview with
Good Samaritan Ministries'
Board President Nick Dekker

As a young professional in our community what brought you to the board and drew you to taking on the chair position at GSM?

It is apparent that Good Sam has not rested on its laurels!  It's refreshing to see an organization so committed to its cause! Good Samaritan Ministries has a long, well-known history of mobilizing the faith-based community we live in and using the community's collective skills and assets to serve the community. At every step, the staff has made an effort to utilize the latest and most progressive trends in ending homelessness and poverty.

3Sixty Intern House
Invest in Future Leaders!

Good Samaritan Ministries Neighborhood Connection initiative is partnering with 3sixty and the City of Holland to build a stronger neighborhood in the east central city. We do this by identifying and mobilizing local assets and by building strong relationships between neighbors.

Good Samaritan Ministries supports this 3sixty project as this house will be a training ground for our young adults in community engagement and leadership development. It is an important investment in the future for our youth and for the surrounding neighborhood.
