Limited Farmers' Market Today
Due to a high chance of heavy rain and thunderstorms this afternoon, we will not be holding the farmers' market today. Langwater Farm WILL be here, under the roof at the north entrance of Ashmont Station, for CSA deliveries and general sales. Langwater will accept SNAP benefits and Boston Bounty Bucks as always. Thanks to the MBTA for making this arrangement possible. Looking forward to welcoming back all our farmers/vendors next week! Thanks to our market sponsors:

Boston's Best Neighbor Award - Call for Nominations
Vargas & Vargas Insurance, of Dorchester and Stoughton, announces the Fifth Annual Boston's Best Neighbor Award. The purpose of the award, according to Vargas & Vargas president Carlos Vargas, "is to honor an individual who has demonstrated special care, concern and volunteer hours to make their neighborhood a safer, more pleasant and more friendly community for all residents. This individual may have made contributions to other neighborhoods, projects or citywide concerns." The 2013 winning nominee will receive $2,000 and a plaque, and their story will be published in the local media. The individual who nominates the winner will receive a $500 check and $500 donated to the charity of their choice. One runner-up will also receive $500. Nominations must reach the office of Vargas & Vargas Insurance's Dorchester location by 5 PM, August 15, 2013. This is a Citywide award. Nominees, and those who nominate, must be current Boston residents. The nomination must include an essay of 100 words or more. This is not a voting competition, but an award to the most deserving.
