Spring Newsletter 2013

A Message From Your
ACHE of Massachusetts President

Dear ACHE of Massachusetts Colleagues,

As I write this Spring newsletter, the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing are completing their initial rehabilitation and heading home for further recovery. The greater Boston area is filled with the spirit of resilience and gratitude for our first responders and health care professionals who saved lives and prevented further harm on that fateful day. Our health care system, while complex and under cost pressure, worked well because our professionals were well trained, team focused and fully prepared. We salute them, and offer our deepest thanks. We also offer our condolences to those families who lost loved ones, and wish for continued healing and full recovery for those who were injured on April 15, 2013.

As the warmth of late Spring finally emerges, our new strategic plan will be unveiled. The ACHE of Massachusetts board will finalize the 2013-2015 plan at our June meeting. Key goal areas include:

  • Developing broader membership diversity and advancing Fellows in the College
  • Developing collaborative approaches with other organizations and ACHE chapters
  • Continuing to invest in the Early Careerist and Mentoring Programs
  • Engaging executives across multiple sectors of the health care field in valuable educational opportunities, leveraging the knowledge of the networks of our sponsors and members.

Our committees are hard at work. Membership continues to grow and we are reaching out to our C-Suite colleagues across Massachusetts to encourage advancement in the College for every member and their respective executive teams.

On May 16th, the program committee held our Spring Conference, Disruptive Innovation. Over 150 people attended the event, with a highly diverse and engaged audience. The conference was video-taped and will be available for viewing in the next couple of weeks. The committee is now planning a great program for fall!

ACHE of Massachusetts proudly welcomes the College for their Cape Cod Cluster, June 24-27 at the Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster, MA. A terrific program is on the docket and we encourage you to participate for your Face-to-Face credits for recertification or advancement to Fellow.

Warmest regards,

Trish Hannon, RN, MBA, FACHE

Chapter President
