Sara Weaver, Marketing Director
The Stanly County Chamber of Commerce begins the New Year with a new Marketing Director and new plans for outreach as the advocate for local business. Sara Weaver, recently arrived from Arkansas, is highly qualified for the job. With a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, and a background in publishing and television production, Weaver is well prepared to bring fresh ideas to her new position.

"I feel I have a clean slate," she says. "No one has had this job before so I will be able to create new ways of marketing for the Chamber."
With less than a month in her new position, she is eager to begin. One of her first plans of action will be to re-vamp the Chamber's Facebook site, make daily posts on social media outlets Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram, and keep the Chamber website updated. She will also meet with Chamber members, making the connections she sees as important to promoting the Chamber's mission. Along the way she hopes to recruit new members.

Weaver will also spearhead the Chamber Ambassadors, a group of volunteers that attend Chamber ribbon cuttings for new members, help staff Chamber events and spread the word of the advantages of Chamber membership.

The Chamber's Programs and Events will benefit from her marketing expertise, and her skills will be instrumental in helping to build on the Chamber's re-branding campaign.
With her sparkling personality, energy and enthusiasm, Weaver is well situated to build strong networks among Chamber members and with the business community. Her marketing background will open the way for new and exciting ideas to promote the Chamber's advocacy for business.

Along with her husband, Cary, and their three children Jackson, 8, Millie, 6 and Will, 3, Weaver is looking forward to settling in and becoming a part of the community.

"Sara's experience and expertise will help steer the Chamber as it strives to continuously improve all that we do to market to, and for, our membership," says Chamber President and CEO Kathy Almond.
