11 yr. STUFFED ANIMAL DRIVE FOR PEDIATRIC STROKE AWARENESS

Wasatch Hills member, Lori Gibbs Brown, is collecting new or like-new stuffed animals for a stuffed animal drive entitled Noah's Kuddles for Kids. Six-year old Noah Russell (the son of a friend and former classmate of hers from Campion Academy and Union College) died suddenly in March of this year from a pediatric stroke. In hopes of saving another child, all stuffed animals collected will be given a special tag with pediatric stroke information, and then donated to Primary Children's Hospital to be given to all pediatric patients. A bin will be set up in the coat closet at the church labeled "Noah's Kuddles for Kids". Contact Lori  at brown.lori.slc@gmail.com, with any questions. Thank you in advance for your donations!

(Note: This is a private party program.  Therefore, it does not qualify for tax deductions through Wasatch Hills.)

Greeter meeting this Sabbath

right after the church service

Mother's room (behind AV booth)

Greeting is one of the most important functions on a Sabbath, I think we would all agree.  When there are enough volunteers, it is only an hour to an hour and a half - per month - of duty!  If you are shy, this is a great way to meet others!  Please contact Karen Borg if you are willing to volunteer in this fun, and necessary, position.  You are also welcome to join the greeter meeting this Sabbath!

MORE GREETERS NEEDED!

SPECIAL ART EXHIBITION OF THE WORKS OF HARRY ANDERSON -

OPENING RECEPTION

Friday evening, Sept. 23
LDS Church History Museum
(free parking in the rear of the bldg)

Prolific, renowned, SDA artist, Harry Anderson (1906-1996), did 30 religious paintings and paint studies (sketches) for the LDS church. They are opening a 6-month exhibition of some of the latest sketches and a few of the final paintings he did for them on Friday, Sept. 23.  You are invited to attend this free opening reception.  You do need a ticket, however, to gain entrance to it.  Wasatch Hills has been given tickets to share with our congregants and their friends who would like to attend.  You may request tickets from the Wasatch Hills church office at secretary@wasatchhills.org or pick them up at the foyer counter on Sabbath.  There will be vegetarian food available.  Mr. Anderson's daughter, Kristen, and 3 of his grandchildren will be attending.  David Trim, Dir. of Archives, Statistics & Research for the Gen. Conference of SDA will also be in attendance.
10 COMMANDMENTS OF CHRISTIAN FINANCE

2 p.m.  Sept. 24

In looking at financial priorities, they all should honor God and be rooted in His Word.  The only way to make sound fiscal choices is to make sure every spending decision is a spiritual decision.

Jennifer Christian Newton, MBA, is self-employed as a consultant. She also serves as the Associate Ministerial Secretary for the Pacific Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists on a volunteer basis.  In this capacity she is the event planner and provides support to pastoral spouses and families.  Previously she was Assistant Vice President and Regional Audit Manager for General Motors Commercial Finance.  She received her Bachelor of Science from Andrews University and also has an MBA in Project Management.  Her proudest achievements are as a wife to Bradford, mother to Amanda and Tyler, and grandmother to Macy.
