Such a flurry of excitement as we have seen today usually accompanies the onset of Christmas Break. Instead, the happy buzz and the colorful chaos has everything to do with the imminent trip to Yellowstone. Sleeping bags, tables, tents, roll-up cushions, boxes of food, and a tangle of people loading vehicles have certainly made the end of this school day quite lively.
Not to be outdone, students who are not going on this trip are equally boisterous about their own plans for these next couple of days. Granted, some of them will have the same assignments given to those who will go to Yellowstone; however, they are looking forward to time away from the classrooms. It feels like a holiday, for sure!
For those of you who have seen multiple announcements about no classes at Summit for the next two days, you may ignore this final effort to be sure all parents have seen that THERE WILL BE NO CLASSES AT SUMMIT tomorrow or Friday. The office will be closed. We will be back on Monday.
This week's SUMMIT WATCH (see attached) has news of other upcoming events (especially the mini-golf get-together). Next week's SUMMIT WATCH will contain more details about our annual Fall Festival which is also coming up quickly.
As we edge ever nearer to the brink of the most kaleidoscopic time of the year, may you enjoy the rich beauty of each moment and all it has to offer.
Until the next time we connect, stay happy, healthy and alive with wonder.
Warmest regards,
Pam Mertz

SAVE THE DATE!
Adventurers & Pathfinders - Sept. 17!
|
Kids Sabbath/Afternoon kids clubs are starting back up September 17. We would love to have your family join us for a special Sabbath the second Saturday of each month (except for this September). On those days, we are intentional about involving and engaging our young people in ministry. We want this to be a family worship experience. It is not a children's church only for the kids. We need our church family to support the youth with attendance and active participation. You will notice that things will look and sound a little different on these Sabbaths but be assured that blessings are in store for all ages.
Afternoon kids clubs will be held 1:15-3:30 pm monthly on the second Saturday.
Adventurers ages 4 yrs-4th grade
Next Gen/Grapple Pathfinders ages 10+
This is a great way to make friends and learn/do cool stuff. If your kids haven't tried it yet, they definitely need to come check it out and give it a try. It is a lot of fun and very worthwhile.

 | STUFFED ANIMAL DRIVE FOR PEDIATRIC STROKE AWARENESS
| Wasatch Hills member, Lori Gibbs Brown, is collecting new or like-new stuffed animals for a stuffed animal drive entitled Noah's Kuddles for Kids. Six-year old Noah Russell (the son of a friend and former classmate of hers from Campion Academy and Union College) died suddenly in March of this year from a pediatric stroke. In hopes of saving another child, all stuffed animals collected will be given a special tag with pediatric stroke information, and then donated to Primary Children's Hospital to be given to all pediatric patients. A bin will be set up in the coat closet at the church labeled "Noah's Kuddles for Kids". Contact Lori at brown.lori.slc@gmail.com, with any questions. Thank you in advance for your donations! (Note: This is a private party program. Therefore, it does not qualify for tax deductions through Wasatch Hills.) |
